Leeds College of Music is proud to announce the appointment of one of the UK’s brightest new classical music stars, Charlie Siem, as a Visiting Professor.
The multi-talented, versatile performer has appeared with orchestras around the world including the Royal Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, Israel Camerata and the Bergen Philharmonic. In the past year he has appeared on the Andrew Marr Show, BBC Breakfast and CBS News Early Show, and also featured on the Centenary Titanic Concert in Belfast which was broadcast by BBC 2. Charlie will release a new CD in 2013 through a major record label.
Charlie states: “I am thrilled to have been approached by Leeds College of Music and eagerly await my visits to such a forward thinking institution. I look forward to being able to contribute and to share with its students my advice and experiences, challenging them to not only improve their playing but to help them understand and deal with the immense pressure of performing.”
His appointment is warmly welcomed by Director of Curriculum and Research, Dr Randall Whittaker who said, “We look forward to welcoming Charlie to the LCoM family. His view of music making embodies the vision of Leeds College of Music as the UK’s leading progressive Conservatoire.”
